Part:BBa_K4998038
VapC15 gene composite
Usage and Biology
This part consists of the PpsbA1 promoter (BBa_K4998031), an RBS (BBa_K4998024), the gene of the VapC15 toxin (BBa_K4998025), and the rrnB T2 Terminator (BBa_K4998025) terminator. The PpsbA1 promoter is a strong, light-induced, constitutive promoter originating from the Anabaena (Nostoc) PCC 7120 strain [1]. The VapC15 gene expresses a toxin originating from Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803, in our project was used in a kill-switch mechanism in the cyanobacterium Nostoc oryzae TAU-MAC 2710 [2].
